The Villa in a unique architectural hexagonal form, set in a state forest at Mt Canigou, sleeps 6.
When you drive up the property, you find the private parking place and the front garden. Further up, you entre the villa. The ground floor consists of a large living room with wooden floor, fireplace and view on the pool, garden and hills. A nighthall, a bathroom with shower, and a bedroom in wooden lining. A fully equiped kitchen with dining table. Around the living room is a huge veranda offering beautiful views, and eight sliding doors that open to the garden and pool! In the living room is a small wooden staircase that brings you to a small bedroom, much loved by children.
Outside is a courtyard with table and chairs, bbq facilities, with direct access to the fenced swimming pool (37 x 23 ft large , 12 x 7 meter), reclining seats and a bathroom/wc.
All set in a wide private garden (1000 yards), with two more bedrooms in wooden chalets and a large utility room, offering plenty of space. Free wifi.
Price from 850 tot 1560 euros per week, all inn. For a peaceful and natural holiday in a beautiful house and garden, enjoying full view of the mountains.

Directly from the property you have access
to the walking trails which invite for superb walks. You can hike from the front door up Canigou or in the surrounding area. The town of Prades is 10 minutes away and hosts weekly markets as well as the world famous Pablo Casals chamber music festival. There is so much to do & see; Abbeys, Castles, fortified towns, picturesque villages, vineyards, out door activities. With the Mediterranean coast, skiing & Spain all less than an hour away.
Clara (66500 France) is a small and quiet village in a protected forest area, blessed with an ideal location and a sunny Mediterranean climate. Here the paved road comes to an end and the walking trails to the Pyrenees starts. This fantastic walking country opens to any destination, for a stroll in the forest, a pick-nick on a mountain meadow, or a hike up the Canigou (+9200ft). At an altitude of 2000ft, we enjoy a nice view of the hills of the Corbières, and the nearby village of Eus which is the sunniest village in all of France. A 15 minutes drive down the hill brings you to the market town of Prades, with its weekly colourful market. Nearby is the Unesco world heritage site of Villefranche. Within an hour drive, you reach the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean sea, the sweet harbour of Collioure, Perpignan with its huge palace, enjoy vineyard country and wine tasting, climb the castles of the Cathares, relax in the hotwater spa. In two hours you reach the high mountains and Andorra for ski, sightseeing and shopping.
Things to do: The Conflent & surrounding area is rich in history & there are many sites to visit; Vauban built fortified towns like Villefranche de Conflent or Mount Louis, Cathar castles, Abbeys such as Saint-Michel de Cuxa or Saint Martin du Canigou, Fort Liberia, the Palace of the Kings of Majorca, plenty of Romanesque churches & hermitages & numerous museums. There are of course natural wonders as well; the Orgues at Ille sur Tet, the hot springs at St Thomas or Thues, the sacred Mount Canigou & the spectacular pink blanket of peach blossom that swathes the whole valley in the spring. If you are in need of a bit of retail therapy there are the weekly markets in most of the towns where you can buy gorgeous local produce, taste some of the excellent local wine and buy your lunch at the same time. But for more serious shopping why not head to Perpignan and wonder through the maze of tiny streets looking in chic boutiques or buying some of the locally produced arts and crafts. There's plenty to do! Pampering and gastronomy: The naturally occurring hot springs, warm dry air & reportedly 300 days of sunshine a year has meant that this area has long been recommended to those looking for spas, health retreats or to 'take the cure'. Many of the establishments have been around for a long time & were particularly popular with the Victorians. These days they offer all of the latest treatments in lovely surroundings. Why not visit one of the spas at Molitg les Bains or Vernet les Bains or if you are suffering a few aches and pains after some skiing try the hot springs at St Thomas, Llo or Dorres. If all that has given you an appetite then your in for a treat. There are several Michelin rated restaurants under an hours drive away, with a wide choice of local restaurants much closer. Whether you fancy a five course dinner or a simple snack there are a multitude of choices. There is a list of eateries in the information pack at the property and we are always glad to hear if you have found a new recommendation. Things to do with Children: You wont be short of things to keep the young or young at heart entertained. Within 30 minutes drive you can find the animal park at Casteil, the caves at Villefranche de Conflent and Fort Liberia. You could take the famous 'le petit train jaune' up into the mountains. In the summer it has some open air carriages so you can really take in the scenery! There is the lake and beach at Vinca where you can swim in the summer, hire pedalos, trampoline and play on the bouncy castles. In winter there are always the ducks to feed. You could sniff out some fun at the perfume museum at Mosset. Theres tubbing and canoeing at Marquixanes as well as carting, jumpers (stilts with springs) and climbing near Eus. Swing through the trees on ropes on the aerial assault course close by. Quad bikes are available for the teenagers. In Villerach itself there is a playground with swings, slide and spring bouncer as well as a basketball hoop and a boules pitch (theres a set of boules in the house). Ski: There are several ski stations about an hours drive from the property. The most popular are Les Angles, Pyrenees 2000 and Font Romeu. All have hire shops for skis and equipment as well as bars, restaurants and other sporting facilities. You can use the computer at La Grange to check on ski conditions, pass rates etc. Ski season is usually from the end of November/ beginning of December until the end of the French Easter holidays. Other Activities: Canoeing, pot holing, white water rafting, canyoning, carting, quad biking, adventure playground, tubbing, 'Go Ape' tree rope assualt course. For everyone a great holiday.
